Troop 10 News & Upcoming Events

Any questions? Contact the Scout Master, or your Senior Patrol Leader.

The Troop is leaving for Camp Roosevelt on Sunday July 4th, from the North Main Street

Shopping Center in Brewer. We will meet at the parking area at Noon and caravan out to

Camp.  Check in at KSR begins at 1pm. If boys have prescription medication it needs to arrive

with them in the original container.  Call me if you have any questions about this or about med

forms in general. We will try to go from the dining hall area to the waterfront for swim tests.  If

boys could arrive in swim gear with a towel and dry cloths in a bag, that would be best. We will

bring our stuff to the Campsite as time allows. We do not eat until dinner (6pm) so please eat

lunch prior to arrival. I have Troop 10 t-shirts for boys that do not have them yet. Each Scout

will have three shirts for the week.  We try to have them worn on Monday and Friday for sure.

Friday night is the campfire that the boys put on to entertain the staff and adults.  It is also the

day of the Pamola relay and family BBQ. Events begin at 4pm.  This is a great time for parents

and family members to attend. We have a lot to do Saturday morning and count on boys being

able to stay Friday night.  Please help us plan accordingly. We will try to be ready to leave

camp by 9am on Saturday morning.  If parents could be out by 8:30am, it would be

appreciated. Flashlight and batteries. Small day pack with water bottle. Rain coat, hat, bug

repellent. Sturdy shoes.  Try to avoid sneakers if possible. Scout Handbook in a Ziploc Bag

with a pen. The Troop Trailer has all our cooking and eating stuff.  We will have tents, a big

canopy and other stuff. Scouts do not have to bring Class A uniform. Toiletries:  Tooth

Brush/Toothpaste, wash cloth and soap. If you have any questions then contact Gus at 299-

7704.

Ben will be awarded his Eagle advancement at a Court of Honor on July 15, 2010 at 7:30PM at

Congregation Beth Abraham located on 145 York St. in Bangor. If you can attend, please get

back to Ben at 990-1155, or let me know so I can keep his family informed.  Ben will need help

from Troop 10 boys in his ceremony, so please plan to attend in full uniform for the event.

The council web site has been completely re-done.  Please take some time to review it.  There

is a good calendar of events and so much information on Camping and Scouting

Opportunities in our area and beyond.  It is a great resource and a lot of time has been spent

on it. http://www.katahdinareabsa.org/
